Marcus Bentley, the famous voice of Big Brother, has insisted the reality show will return to screens after it was axed by Channel 5 last year.
The voiceover artist sent fans wild on Monday with a message posted on Twitter and Instagram, sharing a throwback photo of himself in a recording studio with the caption: ‘Narrating Big Brother – We will be back! #bigbrotheruk #voiceovers #voiceover’.
The photo shows a grinning Marcus, who voiced all series of Big Brother and its spin off Celebrity Big Brother since its beginnings in 2000 with his distinctive Geordie drawl, in front of a mic.
The photo caption had Marcus’ followers in a spin as one replied: ‘Oh. My. Days. This is not happening right now. I’m so excited. We need an announcement immediately.’
‘omg… please say it got saved! Don’t mess with my emotions like this :)’ added another.
‘Stop teasing us !!! Missing cbb so bad !! January just not right without bb,’ agreed one more fan.
BB host Emma Willis, 42, admitted last week it’s been a ‘weird’ start to the year as it is her first January in five years where she has not hosted Celebrity Big Brother.
Normally staple viewing in the first few weeks of the year, Channel 5 confirmed during last year’s show that they were axing the series.
Speaking to The Mirror, Emma said: ‘January has been weird if I’m being honest. When Big Brother finished, everybody was really sad.
