She made waves after she cancelled her performance at the Grammy Awards last month.
But Ariana Grande said Thank U, Next to the following music award show.
The 25-year-old singer captivated the crowd in a pre-taped performance for the sixth annual iHeartRadio Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Thursday.
The diminutive diva showcased her vocal talents on her single Needy as she was introduced by Pharell for winning Female Artist Of The Year.
With her Sweetener World Tour kicking off in two days, Ariana was not able to be at the show in person, but gave her fans a charge with the taped concert.
The powerful performance comes just four weeks after she pulled out of performing and attending the Grammy Awards in LA last month.
The pop star reportedly had a disagreement with Grammy producers over what song she would perform during the show, according to Variety.
An insider claimed that Grande felt, ‘insulted’ after Grammy producers wouldn’t let her perform her new song, 7 Rings, which dropped in January.
Grande and her reps were also upset that her image was aggressively used to advertise the award show, despite never having actually committed to the occasion, the outlet reported.
