James Trethewie has slammed the editing on Bachelor In Paradise after he was shown appearing to suggest a threesome with Alex Nation and Brooke Blurton, who are both bisexual.
The 33-year-old claimed that the footage had been ‘cut and put together’ after a fan on Instagram accused him of perpetuating stereotypes about bisexuals being ‘non-monogamous.’
The scene in question saw James say that he was hoping Alex and Brooke would ‘connect’ on their one-on-one date so the three of them could ‘all hang out together.’
He then flashed a cheeky grin at the camera, seemingly implying that he was interested in a threesome or something more romantic with the pair.
Responding to the fan, James wrote: ‘It’s not how it seems, it’s how the footage has all been cut and put together and definitely now how it’s implied.’
He continued: ‘I’m pretty pissed, to be honest.’
The financial adviser explained that his relationship with Alex was much closer in reality than what was shown on-screen, and that he was ‘fully supportive’ of both Alex and Brooke exploring their bisexuality.
‘What you’re referring to seeing on-screen was me saying I really like Brooke, I still do as a person and could see why Alex was attracted to her. She’s beautiful inside and out, that’s all – nothing more, nothing less.’
