‘Of course I’m nervous’: Chris Bath returns to TV screens as Channel 10’s weekend newsreader after almost three years away

Respected journalist Chris Bath returns as Channel 10’s weekend newsreader on Saturday.

As reported by The Daily Telegraph on Saturday, Chris, 51, who has been in hiatus for almost three years, will present 10 News First at 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Chris, who is mother to son Darcy, 18, with journalist husband Jim Wilson, 51, said she was feeling jittery about her new role.

‘Of course I’m nervous. I think most people are when they start a new job but I’m also excited,’ Chris told the publication.

‘It’s not really first day of school nerves, it’s more like changing high schools and you’re the new girl with a new peer group.’

Chris is replacing Natarsha Belling, 48, who has taken a spot on the network’s morning program Studio 10.

Along with this, Chris will regularly appear on The Project and Studio 10.

Chris was with rival TV station Channel Seven for close to 20 years, where she was weekend news presenter and host of Sunday Night.

She took to Instagram in December last year to share her excitement about landing her new role at 10.
