Quicker than Usain Bolt? PSG star Kylian Mbappe clocked sprinting at 38km/h to beat average pace of Olympic icon during world record 100m win

Kylian Mbappe has proved he really is a speed demon, by recording one of the fastest sprints ever seen on a football field.

The 20-year-old was in inspired form as Paris Saint Germain wrapped up the Ligue 1title and continued to impose their dominance on the French division.

PSG had the title in the bag after rivals Lille could only draw with Toulouse, meaning Mbappe and Co could play without pressure as Monaco visited the Parc Des Princes.

The mercurial youngster certainly flourished as a result, hitting a hat-trick against his former club and registering a sprint which clocked in at 38km/h.

In scoring one of his goals, Mbappe created the move by taking the ball on the halfway line and playing a pass out to the left wing for Moussa Diaby.

The France international then produced a blistering sprint, leaving defenders in his wake as he got into the penalty area to finish off the move and tap home.

French television later analysed Mbappe’s movement and noted the quite ridiculous speed – quicker than that which Usain Bolt averaged when he set his 9.58 second 100m world record.
