Manchester United ‘keen on £40m-rated Youri Tielemans’ as Leicester open talks with Monaco over permanent deal for on-loan midfielder

Manchester United could challenge Leicester for the signature of Youri Tielemans this summer after adding the midfielder to a ‘long list’ of targets.

The Belgium international, who is on loan at the King Power Stadium, has starred for the Foxes since joining in January, scoring once and laying on four assists.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to sign Tielemans permanently this summer, but he could now face competition from United.

Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws claim that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on the former Anderlecht star, who is rated at £40million by his club.

Tottenham are also reportedly interested in Tielemans, which could allow Monaco to up their asking price when the transfer window reopens.

Leicester have already opened talks with the Ligue 1 club and hope to use Adrien Silva, who went the other way in January, as part of the deal.
