Hillary Clinton said Wednesday that it “makes perfect sense” for top Democrats to call for the resignation of Attorney General William Barr.
“Calling for his resignation makes perfect sense because he’s not discharging the duties of the office, he’s not going to resign, and at this point, I think that we know what we need to know about him” the 2016 Democratic presidential nominee told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow.
“Bob Mueller has made that abundantly clear that he has not presented accurately the context, the nature and the substance of the investigation,” Clinton added.
On Wednesday, Barr spent hours testifying before the Republican-led Senate Judiciary Committee about his handling of special counsel Robert Muller’s report.
Barr said, however, that he plans to skip the second day of Congressional testimony before the Democrat-led House Judiciary Committee.
Presidential hopeful Sen. Kamala Harris called for Barr to step down moments after questioning him during Wednesday’s hearing on whether he read the evidence in the Mueller report.
