Inter Milan have revealed they have not received a ‘suitable offer’ for Arsenal target Ivan Perisic.

The GunnersĀ are keen on the Croatian winger as they look to improve their options out wide ahead of the closure of the January transfer window. He is thought to have handed in a transfer request.

As a result, he was left out of Inter’s squad for the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Torino on Sunday.

But director Piero Ausilio has insisted that the Serie A side are not happy with any bids they have received for the 29-year-old.

‘Perisic wants to go abroad, but there are no suitable offers,’ Ausilio said.

‘If he does remain, I expect the same professionalism from him as always. We intend to get him back on track and it shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t think it’ll take very long.

‘I can say the Inter transfer market is closed. We had some fitness issues with Sime Vrsaljko and did well to immediately cover the gap with Cedric Soares [from Southampton].

‘Inter have had a difficult path over the last few years, having changed ownership three times, but we now have a solid and ambitious owner who with time and patience can achieve great things.’

Meanwhile, Arsenal are hopeful of securing a loan deal to bring Barcelona’s Denis Suarez before the transfer deadline.

‘We need wingers,’ said manager Unai Emery. ‘I know Denis because he played with me at Seville. It will be a challenge for him.’
