Hugh Jackman, 50, has become an icon playing Marvel anti-hero Logan in the Wolverine and X-Men films.

But now, the actor has revealed the one popular film role he would happily reprise if he got the chance, in a BBC Radio Five Live interview last month.

And much to the disappointment of X-Men aficionados, the handsome actor would jump at the chance to don a top hat and reprise his role as P.T. Barnum in a Greatest Showman sequel.

‘If a genuine opportunity came up where it felt like the right thing to do, then yep, I’d get the top hat back out,’ Hugh confessed.

Hugh went on to say it was clear that fans of the film loved the characters with it grossing $435 million at the box office last year.

‘It’s clear to me and to everyone that people love these characters. I loved this movie, I loved this character and it was one of the great joys of my life,’ he added.

The X-men actor, however, did say that the company the produced the film has since been sold to Disney, with left him uncertain the movie could be made.

He said: ‘We have situation in the business where the company that did it has been sold to Disney, so there are a lot of spinning plates right now.’

Hugh sent fans into meltdown with them thinking he might reprise his role as Logan in the Wolverine films when he shared a clip of himself working out in the gym this month.
