He’s one of the most famous Swedish actors in the world.
And on Thursday, Alexander Skarsgard came out to support his countrywoman Noomi Rapace at the New York premiere for the movie Stockholm.
Rapace stars in the film with Ethan Hawke and it tells the story of the 1973 bank heist and hostage crisis in the Swedish capital that spawned the phrase ‘Stockholm syndrome’.
Skarsgard, 42, is best known for his roles in True Blood, the Legend of Tarzan and Big Little Lies for which he won an Emmy and a Golden Globe.
His father is acclaimed Swedish star Stellan Skarsgard and his brother Bill Skarsgard is also an actor who plays Pennywise in It and It: Chapter Two.
Rapace, 39, found fame outside of her homeland as Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish film adaptations of the Millennium series: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest.
