Apple’s AirPower has been seen out in the wild.
Not the actual device, but at least a diagram of the missing-in-action wireless charging pad, according to MacRumors.
A user reported to the Apple-focused news site that they purchased a pair of the iPhone maker’s new AirPods 2 and when they inspected the packaging, lo and behold, there was a reference to the AirPower.
Apple hasn’t discussed the AirPower publicly since it was first announced in September 2017.
Since then, media outlets and industry experts have speculated about when Apple will finally release its much-anticipated charging accessory, while gadget fans have developed theories that the AirPower will never actually see the light of day.
But the sighting on Apple’s AirPods 2 packaging drums up renewed interest in the illusive charging mat.
On the back of the AirPods 2 packaging, there’s a diagram instructing users that they can place their AirPods in the wireless charging case, which can then be charged by laying it on top of what appears to be the AirPower.
